This robustly-built boat is being used as a shark research vessel along the East Coast by Joe Romeiro and Lauren Benoit.  It was hauled out in early-2019, and our Somerset team worked closely with the owners to suit their needs. Preparing the boat for such a unique purpose requires a lot of creative problem solving and custom work.  The completed work to date includes:

• Extensive custom metal work including a welded aluminum swim platform, pulpit, wetsuit drying racks and hardtop mounted equipment tower.
• A new custom-designed side entry door in the cockpit for easier water access in diving gear.
• All new hydraulic lines with quick disconnect couplers, a pot hauler and a crane for hauling the shark cage.
• New hydraulic bow thruster (including tube installation in hull)
• Installation of a 16-person life raft
• Mechanical upgrades such as new 8D batteries, re-pitched (and re-coated) propeller, a new 80-amp battery charger and all-new fire extinguishing system
