Ernestina-Morrissey - 1894 Schooner

The official vessel of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, Ernestina, ex-Effie M. Morrissey is currently designated by the United States Department of the Interior as a National Historic Landmark as part of the New Bedford Whaling National Historical Park. Originally a fishing vessel at the Grand Banks, the Ernestina has ventured to Greenland and to the Arctic, 600 miles from the North Pole. In 1986, the Ernestina began her career as a sailing school ship, living history museum, and cultural ambassador.

Currently it is the shipyards biggest project, as it is undergoing a 3 year complete restoration process in which the hull and deck are being rebuilt.
