The cleanliness of a yacht's ventilation system is essential in maintaining good Indoor Air Quality (IAQ). A dirty HVAC system will not control the moisture loads within the ship or yacht as designed, building up irritating contaminants and effecting comfort and the indoor environment. The interior furnishings become damaged by these contaminants as they are blown out of the ventilation system. The National Air Duct Cleaners Association (NADCA) recommends a pre-commissioned clean of HVAC system and associated ventilation ductwork to eliminate the construction dust and other debris and particulates from the system before the ship or yacht is put into operation.
